He Did It!

I left Matt with both girls twice this week and he survived beautifully. Darby did get a couple of extra baths out of the deal but I am so proud of him.

Silence is NOT Golden

Georgia is learning to talk so it is a constant stream of babble in our house. Whenever the babble stops something is up. This week...

#1 I am nursing the baby and Georgia is puttering around with her breakfast. Dragon Tales is on and I find myself watching (not that I haven't seen this episode 6 times). I realize it has been quiet for about 3 minutes and I turn to find Georgia has gotten a hold of the salt shaker and is covering her oat bar in salt and then licking it off.

#2 Again, nursing Darby and Georgia is doing her usual running around. She disappears for a while and I call for her and hear nothing. I call again, nothing. On the 3rd call she comes running to me with her tongue stuck out as far as it can go and her toothbrush covered in white goo. She has just tried to brush her teeth with expired zit cream. I know, child proofing would be a good idea and I thought we had.

#3 We came in the house tonight and Darby was asleep so I had all of 5 minutes to do a quick clean. I start picking up clothes and realize there is an odd stillness behind me. I turn to find Georgia furiously sucking on the straw of my Dr. Pepper (mommas treat). I say "Georgia Alice!" and she pulls the straw out of her mouth, eyes watering, gasping for breath and says, "Momma dink!" Like she had just done me a favor by pointing out I had a drink. She had almost emptied the cup which means she got at least 12 to 14 ounces of caffeine laden goodness. All in 15 seconds.

I have told Matt if it gets quiet it is time to go Georgia hunting.
