Last Day of School 2013

My goodness this girl is happy.  She has a light in her that can't be put out.  I love it when she smiles and she smiles all the time.  She is such a joy to be with.
And just for comparison here she is on the first day of school.  She changed so much this year both in size and personality.  She has really moved on into full blown kid.  She wants to dress a certain way, wear her hair a certain way and has a mouth full of adult teeth.
Darby was sick on the last day of school with a stomach bug so she missed out on pictures this year.  Sad baby.

Georgia Takes the Stage

One of the projects Georgia's class worked on this year was to write and perform an original play in Spanish (they do everything in Spanish).  They came up with characters, plot ans props.  It was really fun to see her Spanish come along so far in the last school year.

Georgia turns 7!

Georgia's birthday started out with erh being student of the week at school.  Is she a happy kid or what?

We celebrated the night of her actual birthday at Mary's with the cousins. Note, she chose to wear her Pocahontas costume that night.  No idea why.

I made her everyone's favorite ice cream cake.
The following Friday night we had a joint party with one her friends at school at my mom's house.  The weather was awful so we moved out the furniture and made it work.  We invited her whole class (27 kids) and I think about half of them came.

Georgia and her friend also wanted a peacock cake and it turned out great as well.

The girls decided instead of gifts they would collect donations for the school library and they were able to give a check for more than $150.

Darby Turns 6!

Darby was deathly ill on her birthday this year.  She missed almost the whole week of school and I was really worried she was going to be sick on the day of her party but she rebounded and had a great birthday party.  We actually spent the Monday night of her birthday t urgent care after she was running a 103 fever and broke out in a rash.  Turns out she had strep.  Nanue and Big Papa were in town for it.
Uncle Matt was there as was Aunt Bob and the twins.

Mera looks a little grumpy here but probably because I had just told her she couldn't take her lemonade into the bounce house.
Nanue got to meet Mary Bea for the first time and got some cuddles.
Look! A picture of all three children and no one is crying.
We took all of the party guests on a beast ride and the kids loved it.
I decided to give myself a break this year and did store bought cakes for both girls.  Darby wanted a peacock cake so I ordered and was very happy with how it turned out.

Mera looking grumpy again with her loot from the pinata.
Darby waited until the guests were gone to open gifts but was very excited about what she got.

Easter 2013

We dyed Easter eggs with one of Georgia's friends and the girls did great.  Each year that passes things get easier for me as a mom and more fun for the whole family.

The night before Easter Matt had his big fundraiser for the year so we were out a little late and without going in to specifics, the Easter Bunny earned it.    This is us when we got home around midnight.
 Easter morning egg hunting.
