March 2010

Okay, so I didn't post the month of March. I am pretty tired by bed time for the girls, which is when I usually get around to it and just haven't felt like it. So here is a recap of the month to make up for lost time. D and Daddy are still best friends. He puts her to bed every night and while she still prefers me more of the time she is much happier to accept him lately.

I picked up a couple of "tutus" at the JBF sale this year and the girls like to dance and twirl in them.

Georgia's is more of a real tutu but D doesn't know the difference.

They have days where they are best buddies. Mostly this is dictated by G's mood because Darby is always happy to be with her big sis. Here they pulled their chairs together to eat dinner.
In the last month Darby has really taken to books and has much more patience both when being read to and when "reading" by herself. She loves the Brown Bear series and has most of them memorized so she will sit and read them to herself.

Again in the chair with Daddy. I learned how to stove pop popcorn last month since I don't like any of the microwave variety and air pop has no flavor. The kids love it in a bag for a snack.

Nanue came for the first time since X-mas and watched the girls so I could work over their spring break. It was a great trip and so nice to have the help.

It also snowed. Too much snow for March in my opinion but the second year in row for a late March snow.

And we are gearing up for swim season. Swim suits have been brought out of the closet and worn around the house on numerous occasions already.

D is working on her "popping under."

She is too cute lately.

I turned 33 last month and here they are waiting for the party to start and looking for deer in the valley.

My party was fun and all my family came. The girls love their cousin Vivian and she is so good with them.

I think the kids got more presents than I did thanks to Mary and Aunt Kiki and uncle Matt. Here is D with her first Slinky.

I like this picture because it looks like D is upset about a bible book when really she is crying about a balloon. She is terrified of balloons.

Darby got a princess key chain and G was quite jealous.

And my big present was a new sewing machine. It is so nice and quiet and smooth. I love it.

And then there was the cake

Always the best part of a birthday party.

Vivian got some temp tattoos and I put a few on the old belly.

And finally here is G completing a stacking challenge.

Here she is guarding it so Darby won't knock it over.

Messy Art Night 2010

We went to the annual Messy Art night after our hair cut. Darby stayed home with Daddy so G and I could have some alone time and she was so much fun. She loves art and textile activities. Here she is using something to stamp white paint.

And this is a big block of Moon Sand. Birthday idea if I forget. I have seen it at Target.
Painting is by far her favorite.

She got it to it with the double brush action.

There was water table.
She didn't spend as much time there as usual but she did stop by.

This was my favorite. Watch the progression. First she just used the cookie cutters like she was supposed to.

Then she got an idea.

Why not paint with her hands.

And while we are at it, let's put our hands in every color of paint.

Big Haircut

I decided to get G's hair cut short so when the baby comes Daddy can fix and because it just doesn't look very goo or healthy. Here is a before shot.

She freaked out a little when she had to have her hair washed. but after that was a trooper.

I had the lady take about 4 inches off.

Here is the finished product.
I think it turned out great and she loves it.

Sister Damage

Darby never wears clothes when we are at home and it worked against her on this morning. G got in a good whack and left a mark. Not to take away from Darby's pain, but D dishes as well as she takes it.

Valetine's Flowers

Big Papa sends the girls flowers every year for Valentine's Day. I love the tradition and the girls love the flowers. This year we can even plant them if they live until spring. Both girls ate breakfast with them the morning I gave them to them.

G having her breakfast with Super Why.

I always try to get a good photo of the girls with their flowers. G is harder and harder to get.

Darby on the other hand loves to cheese it up.

Lookin' Out my Back Door

Darby spotted these guys grazing in our yard. There were four but I only got a picture of two.

My Girls

They are really getting along with Daddy lately, especially Darby. The had better get used to that since he will be taking over many of my duties come July. And if you have not heard, baby #3 is another girl. We are all so excited and a little scared.

My blue eyed babies.

As, I have said before, the girls are really in to playing "night night" and spend lots of time in their cribs together.

Georgia loves it because it is a chance to have her paci and Darby just loves being with Georgia.

A rare day to play outside.

This kids loves to slide.

And slide.
