End of Summer

We are really enjoying the cooler weather(although I am sure it won't last). We spend a lot of time out side, taking stroller and beast rides and playing in the yard. Both Georgia and Darby are growing up so fast and both are in such a fun place developmentally right now.

Georgia has turned into quite the little acrobat.

G found one of Caroline's old Tutus in her closet this week and wore it around for the evening,. She is very much into her ability to move her body and is always saying "watch this" as she contorts her legs and arms into some sort of crisscross form.

Darby is in the "strap phase." Perhaps on of the most frustrating phase for both me and her. She wants to fasten all of her straps by herself and get very fitful and emotional when she can't do it.

MADDEST
The puppy next door is really growing and is already so good with the kids.
She and Milo have so much fun together.
Georgia has had a change of heart about her this week and is no longer afraid.
I guess she has learned to bite back.
The whole crew. I think Scarlett is sitting on Milo there in the corner.

This morning the girls wanted to walk over to grand mama's alone so I let them.
Checking to see if I am following.

Darby lost her nerve at the turning point and headed back home yelling "NO' the whole way.

Picture Regurgitaion

Again I am behind and again a TV show is to blame. Not to mention Bunco, La Leche meetings and Matt taking a photography class. Anyway I told myself updating the blog would happen this weekend so here I am on Sunday night at 10:15 making good on my promise to myself. The pictures are in no specific order.

Nanue sent G and D matching baseball PJs and Georgia had pajama day at school so I dressed Darby to match.

We got the paints out last weekend and let G paint some paper and Darby paint herself.
Here is our budding artist deep in thought.

This is what happens when you show Darby a turtle. She must hold it.

And this is what happens when you take it away.
All the while G is still painting.

We went for a beast ride and picked wild flowers before the mower men came and baled the field. Not that we knew they were coming. It just worked out that way.

Here I am trying to rest while the girls play. It never works.

We went adventuring into the valley this weekend post baling. Here I am on a hay bale.

G apparently did not enjoy being on the bale as much as I did.

And here is a butterfly on one of the few wild flowers left.

Darby does love a beast ride.

And wandering through the field.

My dad and bro got her this little shirt while they were in Chicago recently and she looks so good in black.
This is me trying to roll a hay bale. It didn't really work out so well. Those things are really heavy.

Captain of the beast. This was probably taken right after she yelled, "Beast ride."

Darby loves the puppy and Georgia does not. It jumps and bites too much for her taste.

And here they all come.

Rancho Apache's Red Rose

Here are pictures of Mary's newest addition to the compound. Her name is not really Rose but I may cast my vote that way.
Someone loves that puppy.

Darby is already in love.

Fun in the Sun

My mom got G a new float ring so Darby inherited her old one. We put it on her last week and she is a fish in the water. She can navigate the pool all by herself and loves swimming now.
Aunt Kiki trying to enjoy her G & T. Georgia torturing Aunt Kiki.
Darby has been a bit under the weather this week and thus a little more clingy than usual if that is even possible.

Her and my sad face.

Rock star Darby.

Darby loves my mom's cats and they are so good with her.
Matt Gleason is taking a photo class and he gets credit for all these pictures. Hopefully he will keep it up and you will see more of his work here.
