Rancho Apache's Red Rose

Here are pictures of Mary's newest addition to the compound. Her name is not really Rose but I may cast my vote that way.
Someone loves that puppy.

Darby is already in love.

Fun in the Sun

My mom got G a new float ring so Darby inherited her old one. We put it on her last week and she is a fish in the water. She can navigate the pool all by herself and loves swimming now.
Aunt Kiki trying to enjoy her G & T. Georgia torturing Aunt Kiki.
Darby has been a bit under the weather this week and thus a little more clingy than usual if that is even possible.

Her and my sad face.

Rock star Darby.

Darby loves my mom's cats and they are so good with her.
Matt Gleason is taking a photo class and he gets credit for all these pictures. Hopefully he will keep it up and you will see more of his work here.

Nanue and Locust

Georgia lovin' on her sister.

Georgia trying to get Darby to nurse. It looks like she might be succeeding in the picture but Darby never actually latch on.

Nanue and Big Papa we here last weekend and the girls got their nails done.
Darby was a little less interested.
We went on a great locust shell hunt. We probably found over 100 shells.

This is less then half of what we found,

Nanue and Georgia also threw a tea party for me and Daddy.

Laughing at Nanue.

I let G paint my nails one day last week. She did a lovely job.

Being More Sisterly

Except for Georgia not knowing her own strength, the girls are really starting to interact and play with each other. Darby of course loves Georgia and Georgia loves Darby about half the time. Darby has learned some great words form Georgia like "no" and "mine" and even "my," as in "my straw." Darby's vocabulary is truly impressive and at this time there is so much she says I have lost count. Last week she started combining two words such as "hold frog" and the aforementioned "my straw/cup/shirt/shoe/ice/ball/keys/phone" or whatever she has that anyone is trying to take(see below photo in which I was trying to clean out my car).

Darby loves books and is especially fond of books about deification. Everybody poops is her favorite and she says "poo poo" over and over as it is being read. Georgia has moved on to more advanced concepts like learning the letters and she is trying so hard but it hasn't quite clicked. She is my more left-brained child and loves art and playing with Play-do. She is so creative and I have recently heard her role playing out loud by herself which is so fun to see.

Darby still eats everything you put in front of her as well as nursing 5 to 7 times a day. They are both just so much fun and I wake up everyday excited to see what they will teach me and how they will test me. I am never disappointed by what I learn or how much I am tested.

Family Night at the Races

We took the girls to the horse races this weekend and while I didn't get any pics of the horses or the races, I did get some of the girls checking out the animals that were there for the kids to see. Darby loves reptiles. And I love that about her.

New Clothes

Nanue sent G and D some more new clothes and G decided she should put hers on, all of them, all by herself. She successfully completed this task twice and it took about 45 minutes.
