The Face of an Angel

Why is it strangers and people you hardly know love to ask how your baby sleeps. Why the hell should they care? Is it to make you feel llike a bad parent if you can't say "Oh, she sleeps for 12 hours a night!" I personally am so glad my baby wakes up at night. WhileI admit, I am tired, I truley cherish those moment at night when she wakes up and just wants to be close to her momma. And every time morning comes that is one less night I have with her as a baby needing only me. So, no my baby does not sleep through the night. But she has a compasionate momma who is more than happy to nurture her and give her the love she needs all day and all night. I wouldn't want it any other way.

I think the hardest part of having a baby is letting go of the furture and what you want it to look like and just enjoying the present and the way things already are. Time goes too fast and if you spend it worried about what you are doing now affecting your babies behavior a month from now, you can waste all of this time and never get it back. Just look at her. She is an agel sent from heaven straight to my arms. Just like the pug dog, only better.

4 Month Checkup

Just to update on our vital stats.
Georgia wieghs12 lbs 10 oz and is in the 25 percentile.
She is 25.5" Long and in the 90 percentile.
We make em long and lean!

We clean and then we chill

I swear there is nothing a precious on God's green earth as a sleeping baby (especially one that sleeps until 9:30 so her momma can get her lazy but out of bed and get some exercise). We have discovered that our little angel is not a fan of the footy pajamas. She much prefers to air her toes out at night. I went back to the just between friends sale and bought $25 worth of footless PJs which totalled about 10 pair. Should keep me from having to do laundry for a whole week. (Actually Matt does the laundry. Such a good boy.) Speaking of laundy, Georgia likes to help with that.

Me & Bubbers

Well, I thought I'd better post some pictures of me on this here blog. I think the lighting really complements my beautiful head of lustrous stubble. As usual, Georgia is the cute one in the pic.

Just Between Friends

Tulsa had it's local "Just Between Friends Sale" today and I was privy to some media passes for a pre-show. It was the most overwhelming thing I have ever attended. No one prepared me for the overwhelming amounts of baby stuff that would be for sale. I won't go into all of it but we ended up with a baby gate, a boppy for me to have at work and a new...

I also ought to take this time to thank me friend Misty for coming to see us last weekend and meet the baby for teh first time.

And then there is one more bit of cutness.

Not so Bueno

I just sent this note to taco bueno:
Oh how I love the tasty Mucho Nachos. My favorite thing is how the sour creams cools the slight spicyness of the meat and bean mixture. You can imagine how disappointed I was that, when I returned to work today with nachos in hand to sit at my deck and surf the web while eating my delicious cheesy mess, there was no sour cream piled on top. I had no recourse but to just eat it and mourn the loss of such a perfect condiment.

We are Officially Having Fun

People say the first 3 to 4 months are the hardest when you have a baby. I don't know about hard, but I do know the level of fun you are having is decreased from your pre-baby state. It's hard the first 2 weeks and then it is just monotonous trying to keep your baby happy through eating, sleeping, walking and bathing. That is all you do.

We have really turned a corner in the last two weeks. Georgia's waking time is way more fun than it has ever been. She interacts, talks, and is even on the verge of laughing, mostly when I play patty cake with her feet. She really knows who I am and really knows who Matt is and even flirts with him like they are special friends. I am her momma but he is this wild and crazy guy who she tries her hardest to steal laughs from.

The other thing I wanted to mention, and hope I always remember, is that she has more gas than anyone I've ever met. Either that or she is just uninhibited so you always know when she it tooting. In the mornings when she wakes up and stretches real big and toots so loud it sounds like someone letting the air out of a balloon. And occasionally if I am real lucky she will poop her pants at a ferocious speed so loud that it wakes me up. I just let her go back to sleep with a diaper full of poop usually. I am scared if I change it she will wake up for good and it is usually too early for that.
