Kiki Shower #1

Aunt Bob, Kiki's sister, Sarah and myself threw a couples shower for and Kiki last night. It was Vegas themed complete with Black Jack and Poker tables. For those who don't know, Aunt Kiki is due at the end of January with twin girls and she is doing (and looks) fantastic. Here she is with Sarah.

Here are the ice cream cakes I made. They do taste as good as they look might I say.

Mera was at the party and did amazingly well for being up so late.

Cake Balls and a Birthday

I have ordered cake balls from a couple of friends who sell them before so I figured if they could make them so could I . I did some internet research and realized they were no too hard to make so I decided to try them for Matt's birthday. I did red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and chocolate cake with butter-cream icing. I dipped them in chocolate, white chocolate and mint chocolate. The girls help and it was lots of fun. Her are some pics of the finished product.

And the birthday boy with his girl Mera.

Boo Ha Ha

Just a quick note to say that G and Mera and I marched in the Boo Ha Ha parade on Brookside this year with Parent's as Teachers. I was the Cat in the Hat and Mera could have been Thing 1 or Thing 2.

Halloween 2010

Darby is our little blondy, but to be Cleopatra, she needed dark locks. D was so patient as Virginia sprayed her hair to great effect.

Georgia went as a garden fairy, complete with wings, wand and sparkles in her hair. What a darling girl she is. Darby's not too shabby either.

A rare picture of granmama, especially in costume.

Matt Byrne in his usual white wizard getup, along with Viv, who was the Mad Hatter, and Gracie as an honorary Gleason, according to the girls. That's Gracie's brother with the green hair.

This is what happens when Matt Gleason gets his hands on the black spray used on Darby's hair. He went as "bad hair-in-a-can man."

D's School Parade

Darby's school had an annual Halloween parade. She went as Cleopatra.

She was sure happy to see her mama, daddy and MJ.

MJ is our little peapod. She sure is a cutey. We make em good.

Try to not smile at this one.

Georgia's School Meets her Aids

As I have mentioned before, TPS has some great perks for those kids who are Deaf or HOH. They have a staff audiologists who travels to the kids to service the aids including taking impressions for new ear molds. They also have a liaison, Shannon, who helps with any other needs. Shannon recently went to G's class and talked to the kids about hearing aids, how they work and (most importantly) what to do if you find one laying around.
She let some of the kids listen through G's aides so they could see how much louder it is.

It is time for new molds so the audiologist came along and got impressions of G's ears.

G did great.

This kid LOVES to paint!

So does this one.

Matt and his Mini-Me.

Still painting.

The folks at Boston Ave. were really brave and truly did let the kids get messy.
