9-month Update

I thought I might just do a little update on my baby girl since I never write much and stick to pictures. For those not interested, skip to the bottom and see the pics. Rigth now we have had a major breakthrough. Daddy has been putting Georgia to bed for the last 3 nights and it has gone so well. After 9 months of not leaving the house past 7:00 I am finally free. Here is how it goes:

I nurse her at 6:30 and then give her to daddy who bathes, dresses and reads to her. He then takes her to her room and lays with her until she falls asleep, which happens much faster than it ever did with me.

I have actually been leaving the house after nursing so she has no reason to think of me. She usually sleeps until at least 10:30 and then I will nurse her again. If she wakes before that her daddy goes in and gets her back to sleep.

So let me just say my husband is the bees knees. It is so awesome that he is willing to do this and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. God bless his little bald heart!

In other news Georgia likes:

-Her mommy and daddy
-banannas
-prunes
-baby yogurt
-chicken sticks
-knocking over block towers
-baths
-lotion massages (who doesn’t)
-dogs, especially Tucker
-dog food
-having her hair brushed (well, more she doesn’t mind)
-books (to eat not read)

She dislikes:
-green beans
-horses (she cried when we went and fed the horse with Vivian tonight)
-strangers
-getting her diaper changed
-having her clothes changed
-when I leave the room

She is currently 14.6 pounds and 25.5 inches long and in the 3^rd percentile for both. This last week she has started eating solids regularly twice a day and loves it. She cries when her yogurt is all gone. I am trying to put some meat on her bones since she is so little.

Last weekend she started trying to crawl away when I would say “I’m gonna get you.”

Her crawling has not really taken off but she gets where she needs to go. She loves to use me to pull up with and will stay really close by if we are sitting on the floor playing just in case she gets the urge to climb.

She still likes her sling and I wear her when we go to the grocery store, mall, or anywhere else really. She still can nurse out of it just fine and I will nurse her wherever if she needs to eat.

She has just 2 teeth on the bottom but her top right is getting ready to come through. I have to trim her nails at least twice a week or she shows up in the morning with cuts on her face.

She is just such a happy baby and so much fun to be around. I feel like we are finally clicking a long and things are going so smoothly. I wish someone had told me at 4 months how much fun I would be having at 9 months.

So on with the pictures. We went to a super bowl party at the Byrne ranch and her are some pictures of us getting our hair fixed for the big party and then some pics from the party (for those who have not seen Denny’s TV, well you get the idea).

Sledding

Well the ice fall had its benefits. The sledding was the best ever. Matt and Matt and Christy and I went down to the horse pasture next door and tore it up. Georgia stayed a Grandmama's where it was warm. Here is a shot of us getting ready to head out. Gleason is missing but he did not miss out when it came to his first sledding adventure.

The first sledding we did was just Matt and Glory and I . Glory had the best time chasing us on the slde and then biting us and the sled when we would stop. I think she thought we were playing human catch.



Besides the sledding the weekend was pretty low-key. We never left the house except to walk over to the Byrne ranch and when we did that I pulled Georgia in her very own homemade sled. I worried to much about falling with her to carry her.

Georgia was more fussy than usual this weekend and I don't know if it was cabin fever or a growth spurt but all she wanted if mama was in the room was for her to hold her. It got a little old by about noon Saturday. She has really gotten good about playing on the floor by herself and she is more and more mobile every day. I fully expect her to crawl within the next 2 weeks but often times trying makes her cry because I think she get frustrated. Her sleeping habit are hit and miss lately with at least 2 waking, one around 11 and the other between 2 and 3. Daddy has not had much luck settling her back down lately but we will keep working on it and in the mean time, gotta love napping. Her she is with the ever-vigilant Tucker.

I also have been meaning to post a pic of Georgia's first real ponytail. Her hair is still a little short on top but give it time.

The Great Food Debacle

Well, after the oat cereal and a horrible bout of constipation, Georgia has been back off food for over a month now. She is surviving on breast milk alone for 2 reasons. First off, she cannot pick up a piece of food, chew it, and then want more. When she can do this I will get serious about food. Secondly, it is a lot of work to feed a baby 3 meals a day and why do it if she is healthy and happy and just nursing for nourishment? Right. All that said, she had another pooping fiasco this morning wherein she did not enjoy her BM like some babies do. It was hard on her and made her cry but from the looks of the poop, it should not have been. Anyway, I went and got some prune baby food and will give that to her every couple of days for a while to see if it doesn't help move things along. After all, it had been about a week since her last poop. I think she had actually forgotten what it was like to poop and it may have scared her. The following pictures are of prunes, not poop.

Georgia went and played with her friend Kellon(sorry Collingtons if I misspelled it) last weekend and we got to try on lots of bows.


We also had a burn day at grandmammas last weekend and Georgia got to try out the swing.
