Eureka!

We had a really good time on our trip to Eureka Springs this weekend. We took lots of pictures and here is a little run down. We stopped just across the AR border for snackas and a diaper change and just to get out and stretch.

Once we got to town we went and shopped for a while because we could not check into our cabin until 4.

Our cabin was home to a gaggle of geese which scared the baby at first but them amused her.

On saturday when we got up we went to a place called Blue Spring. Very pretty. We got to feed the trout and hike a little.

Baby girl fell asleep in her sling so we sat for a while and let her sleep.

We went and shopped some more after that and found a sign that reminded Matt of Pete.

Saturday night we got deli sandwiches to take home with us and Georgia and I played a hilarious game called upsidedown baby while waiting for our food.

In getting ready for bath I noticed Georgia's rash that had first appeared on Thursday but I thought was gone, had come back with a vengence. We are still wondering about it but it is better today and I am keeping an eye on it.

We also enjoyed shaving in the tub, napping in momma's lap, talking walks in our jogger and just being together.

Monkey Bizness

It was baby G's first Halloween, as you can see. She's off to a good start too in that she opted for the banana over the candy. It's a pity she couldn't devour some tasty goodies. After all, she doesn't have any teeth to rot out. I suspect if she's anything like her pops, she'll grow to love all things covered in chocolate with gooey caramel centers. Anyway, I ate enough for both of us, and then some. It was hopefully my last night of gorging. I just joined Weight Watchers. My tubby backside is getting out of control, and, boy, do I need to shave.

The group shot of the kiddos was taken at V's playgroup. And, yes, Vivers went as Darth Vader. She's a Byrne girl through and through.

First Food

Well we tried feeding Georgia some avacado yesterday water downed with a bit of breast milk. Sounds good, doesn't it? She didn't think so and will not be trying food again for another couple weeks or maybe months. She was definatley not ready for the tast or the texture. Here is the proof that the spoon was way more interesting than the food(she is actually gagging in the 3rd picture down.):

baby and the hat; baby and the spoon

Bubs likes her hat but she likes her spoon a lot more. We've found that if you take away the spoon, you take away the happy baby. I think Bubs is ready for something more than ninny, mama.

Pug Meetup

Georgia went to her second pug meetup today. She was actually old enought to enjoy this one. Here is the proof. And Milo enjoyed himself as well.

Fairy Tale

Well, Georgia experienced her very first fair today. We got up and hit the gates at opening time of 10: am. We figured Sunday would be a good day to go and the earlier the better. Parking was no problem and we just strapped little miss into her stroller and away we went. She did so goods and just rode around for over an hour. Matt and I indulged in various fried foods that I won't go into but we all had a good time. Our overall visit last about an hour and 20 minutes and we were all glad to have gone.

Another milestone was reached last night when Georgia spent her first full night in her crib. I have been getting very lazy and she has been getting a little spoiled sleeping half of the night attached to her ninny (translation: my breast). I have not been sleeping all that well because of this so I decided she should make the big move to her own bed. I am still sleeping in the room with her but last night was the first night, maybe ever, where she did not get to sleep in bed with momma at all. I was up every hour to hour and a half with her but I think over the next few nights, as she gets used to her crib and forgets the comforts of my arms, she will start sleeping for longer stretches. I miss having her next to me but for her routine and my sanity, I think this will work best for both of us in the end. My goal right now is to have her only waking up a couple times a night and for me to be back in my own bed 2 weeks from now. Gradual change is the best for her and me at this point and as long as I have a goal, I can manage waking up all night for now.
